History

The story of Restaurant Kupferkessel

What began as a petrol station and workshop became one of the most beloved restaurants in the Pinzgau region – a story of generations, passion and continuity.

  1. Robert Schandelbauer builds a petrol station, workshop and family home on Brucker Bundesstraße.

  2. His daughter Erika takes over the family business and runs it independently.

  3. A small petrol station café with light meals opens – the foundation of the restaurant as it is today.

  4. Major renovation transforms the space into Restaurant Kupferkessel, beginning a long era as a local institution.

  5. Kupferkessel has become inseparable from Zell am See – a place for families, friends, clubs and travellers from around the world.
